The Cleveland Way Fundraiser

In February 2008, the Committee approved a project to replace the old buildings occupied by The Learning Tree to ensure its future for many years to come.  The costs of this are substantial and whilst The Learning Tree has been building up reserve funds to contribute to the costs, the project can only succeed with additional funding from a variety of sources including grants, Lottery funding, donations and sponsored events.  For details of the Renewal Project, click here.

During Easter 2009, members of The Learning Tree ("The Walkers") will be walking The Cleveland Way to help raise funds towards the costs of the Renewal Project.  The Cleveland Way is 110 miles long, from Helmsley following the edge of the North York Moors towards the coast and then to Filey.  Whilst the route takes in some of North Yorkshire's finest scenery and points of interest, it is a gruelling journey and not to be taken lightly.  The event will require detailed planning and preparation and The Official Walkers have given themselves until Easter 2009 to do so.  Within that time, they hope to raise significant funds through sponsorship and donations to help achieve the vision for the future set out by Committee this year.

The success of this event will help towards the success of the Renewal Project, and with it the continued operation of one of Carlton Miniott's longest running charities which has provided childcare to the entire Thirsk and District community for nearly 30 years.

Details of how you can sponsor or donate to this event can be found on the Sponsorship and Donations page, or you could even enter your own team by following the link on how to join opposite.
